Inflatable Gravity Habitat
With small inflatable structures becoming more prevalent, this brief study explores the potential for a small artificial gravity habitat where the curved pressure vessel becomes a floor and the floor’s curvature matches the rotation radius of the overall vehicle. Metallic modules serve as structural spine and circulation to the central core module and four solar arrays deploy between the habitat modules. Each inflatable module has a docked lifeboat capsule accessible via a floor hatch but visiting vehicle docking operations occur along the core module on the axis of rotation. The 22 meter rotational radius can generate gravity levels approximating Lunar and Martian regimes, as well as 0.5 g with rotational velocities ranging from 2.5 to 4.5 RPM.
